starboard hull hanging in the breeze

Here's a picture of the mold being broken down while the hull is suspended from the shop rafters. Notice the stack of mold forms in the lower right hand corner of the photo.

Looking good, can't wait to get started on my own build. Was wondering if you'd mind telling me how much all the resin and foam for the hulls has cost you.

My suggestion is not to even worry about it unless you really enjoy creating spread sheets and tracking things to the dime. It releaves a lot of stress if you just find a honest supplier that you can trust, give them your VISA number and just call them when you are running low.( I suggest http://www.fiberglasssupply.com/ and ask for Pat or Matt) Material costs for the shell ends up being a fraction of the cost of a million dollar cat.

For my own sense of security, I am using SYSTEM THREE Silver tip which is probably the most expensive resin out there but Ian F says that one can choose to build in Vinyl Ester or Polyesters as well.

Thus far I have used about a Drum and a half of A side and 3/4 drum of B.

If you let yourself worry about costs, you can easily convince yourself NOT to build or own a CAT.

Otherwise just look into building a Wharram ply cat. ( Nice designs but sort of temporary life span ) I'm building this boat for my sons son too and my son is only 5 months old right now.

Awfully exciting step to lift it out of the molds! Hoping to take out my first side F22 float this next week. Andrew.
