In order to provide rock solid footing without adding excess weight, I constructed the steps leading down into the starboard side hull using carbon fiber tubes.
The tubes were inserted and bonded into individual holes which were cut into the adjoining bulkheads. LED lighting under each step should provide additional safety when negotiating the steps at night.

fantastic idea. non-slip to boot! with your proximity to many carbon-consuming manufacturers and their concomitant scrap/waste dumpsters, it must be great to have an ever-replenishing supply of carbon fiber tubes at your disposal..
How did you insert these? Is the hole larger on one side, or did you put them in before the bulkhead was fixed in place?
Won't this make painting difficult?
