Cooling water strainers

The twin Yanmar diesels require sea water to circulate through a heat exchanger and before the ocean water runs through the small belt driven pump, it needs to be strained.  These neat strainers should do the trick.  They are mounted a little over 6 inches above the water line.

There's a big swell hitting Santa Cruz right now. It was absolutely huge at Steamer Lane today - easily double overhead plus. Watching the power of these waves really reminds one of the importance of a solidly built boat. They roll in like they're in slow motion, and you can feel it through your bones when they crash. Here's hoping you're never in the way of a beast..

In the fluid systems, the utilization of strainers take place to control the flow that cannot be stopped for basket cleaning including fire lines, condensers, salt and fresh water systems, fuel lines, cooling water, compressors, etc.
